Before You Start

Prerequisites:
  • Active Walk the Room account
  • Access to a presentation (new or existing)
  • Content ready (images, text, or PDFs if importing)
What you’ll learn:
  • How to add global slides for reusable content
  • When and how to create custom slides
  • How to import slides from PDF files

Step 1: Choose Your Slide Type

Walk the Room offers three ways to add slides, each serving different purposes:

Global Slides

Reusable templates that auto-populate with your property data

Custom Slides

One-off slides created specifically for this presentation

PDF Import

Import existing slides from PDF documents
Global slides are your foundation. Start here for consistent, data-driven content.
1

Access the slide library

  1. Open your presentation in the editor
  2. Click Add Slide button
  3. Select From Global Slides
2

Find the right slide

  1. Browse available global slides or use the search bar
  2. Use filters to narrow by category (location, pricing, amenities)
  3. Click any slide to preview how it looks with your property data
3

Add to presentation

  1. Click Add Slide on your chosen template
  2. Drag the slide to position it in your presentation
  3. The slide automatically populates with your property information
Best for: Location maps, pricing tables, amenity lists, contact information, floor plans
Start with global slides for your core content (location, features, units, contact). You can always add custom content between them.

Step 3: Create Custom Slides

Add custom slides for presentation-specific content that won’t be reused.
1

Start a new slide

  1. Click Add Slide button
  2. Select Create New Slide
  3. Choose from available layouts (title slide, image + text, full image, etc.)
2

Add your content

  1. Click text areas to add your copy
  2. Upload images by clicking image placeholders
  3. Use the formatting toolbar for styling
  4. Adjust layout and positioning as needed
3

Position and save

  1. Drag the slide to the correct position in your presentation
  2. Changes save automatically as you work
Best for: Special offers, event announcements, custom messaging, unique layouts
If you find yourself creating the same custom slide repeatedly, consider converting it to a global slide template.

Step 4: Import from PDF

Import high-quality content from existing PDF documents.
1

Prepare your PDF

  1. Ensure your PDF is high-resolution (150+ DPI recommended)
  2. Note which specific pages you want to import
2

Upload and select

  1. Click Add Slide button
  2. Select Import from PDF
  3. Upload your PDF file (drag & drop or click to browse)
  4. Wait for the system to process and display page thumbnails
3

  1. Click to select specific pages you want to import
  2. Use Ctrl/Cmd + click to select multiple pages
  3. Preview selected pages to confirm quality
4

PDF slides are imported as images and cannot be edited. Ensure your original PDF is high quality for best results.

Step 5: Organize Your Slides

After adding slides, arrange them for maximum impact.

  1. Click Preview to see the full presentation
  2. Navigate through all slides to check flow
  3. Make adjustments as needed
