# Create Slide

> Step-by-step guide to adding slides to your presentation using global slides, custom slides, and PDF imports

Learn how to build compelling presentations by adding different types of slides. This guide walks you through each method step-by-step.

## Before You Start

**Prerequisites:**

* Active Walk the Room account
* Access to a presentation (new or existing)
* Content ready (images, text, or PDFs if importing)

**What you'll learn:**

* How to add global slides for reusable content
* When and how to create custom slides
* How to import slides from PDF files

## Step 1: Choose Your Slide Type

Walk the Room offers three ways to add slides, each serving different purposes:

## Step 2: Add Global Slides (Recommended First)

Global slides are your foundation. Start here for consistent, data-driven content.

  Start with global slides for your core content (location, features, units, contact). You can always add custom content between them.

## Step 3: Create Custom Slides

Add custom slides for presentation-specific content that won't be reused.

    3. Choose from available layouts (title slide, image + text, full image, etc.)

    4. Adjust layout and positioning as needed

  If you find yourself creating the same custom slide repeatedly, consider converting it to a global slide template.

## Step 4: Import from PDF

Import high-quality content from existing PDF documents.

    2. Note which specific pages you want to import

    4. Wait for the system to process and display page thumbnails

    2. Use Ctrl/Cmd + click to select multiple pages
    3. Preview selected pages to confirm quality

    1. Click **Import Selected Pages**
    2. Drag imported slides to position them in your presentation

**Best for:** Architectural renderings, existing brochures, technical specifications, partner materials

  PDF slides are imported as images and cannot be edited. Ensure your original PDF is high quality for best results.

## Step 5: Organize Your Slides

After adding slides, arrange them for maximum impact.
